“The day the power of love overrules the love of power, the world will know peace.” Mahatma Gandhi
In our society if you are told someone is powerful, it means you must “fear” that person. For the weak minded leaders, power is the tool to destroy those who oppose a diplomatic passport to the land of corruption and indifference.
We will see real change the day when power becomes less about the one who has it and more about its positive impact and usefulness in benefiting the masses.
Power ought to reach and defend the vulnerable, it should seek to build and not to destroy. If you are really that powerful then show us the lives you are changing or have changed and influenced for the better, show us the people you defended who could have not done so without your help.
I like how Jesus, introduced himself as he openly declared the power and its purpose over his life.
Luke 4:18 (NKJV)
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
May your power be measured by the lives you have transformed for the better!
